Are you considering rejuvenating your upper eyelids?
The scarcity of elastic fibers and collagen, the absence of fat cells, the importance of the muscles participating in the blinking of the eyelid which beats approximately 10,000 times a day cause the eye contour to age faster than the rest of the face.
Fatigue, tobacco, UV rays, but also stress, heat and facial expressions are imprinted on it at full speed.
Droopy eyelids can make some people look older than they are, and they can also interfere with vision.
Eyelid droop can be constant, or get worse over time, or sometimes come and go; therefore, it may relate to perhaps one side or both.
The daily approach
Cosmetics can be used, but they have their limits, they generally only concern the contour of the eye and they will only be able to improve certain problems (reduce the pigmentation of the dark circle, slightly improve the skin aspect of the eyelid in bringing a tension effect.
The surgical approach
If the tail of the eyebrow is easily corrected by the use of botulinum toxin, the excess skin will be treated with the procedure called upper blepharoplasty.
This operation is most often performed under local anesthesia and consists of the removal of excess skin, the scar being placed in the fold of the upper eyelid and therefore invisible as soon as the eye is open. We generally take advantage of this gesture of cutaneous ablation to remove a small ball of fat from the internal side, near the nose, a fat ball which weighs down the appearance of the eyes.
Post-operative care consists of the use of eye drops and ophthalmic ointment, if necessary analgesics.
The suites are marked by hematomas more or less important according to the patients and are function of the qualities of the skin, the possible smoking? and attenuated by the use of a homeopathic preparation based on Arnica started a few days before the intervention and continued a few days after. The stitches are removed after 5 to 7 days.
Hematomas last from one to two weeks, the result normalizes in a few days.
