Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid solves dryness and aging of vaginal mucous membranes

Female genitals are sensitive in number of years, especially after menopause. Decreased estrogen production weakens the vaginal mucosa, which by drying out weakens and loses its flexibility and elasticity.

These physiological changes can cause discomfort and degrade women's quality of daily life.

For example discomfort due to vaginal dryness, pain in the vulva or during coitus, repeated infections, etc.

Hyaluronic acid injection

Hyaluronic acid is injected into the mucosa in order to hydrate the tissues. The product also acts on the cells that make up the vulvovaginal mucosa by mechanical pressure, which promotes their activity and the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers.

The effect is immediate and lasts at least 6 months.

After this intervention which preserves femininity, a well-being is quickly felt in all women suffering from pain related to vulvovaginal dryness.

Process

A simple local anesthesia can be carried out before each injection which is generally carried out at the vulvar level and at the entrance to the vagina. Dr Desouches will use a very fine needle allowing him to inject the product superficially, under the mucous membrane to be rehydrated.

No risk of injury is to be feared, the operation lasts about 20 minutes.

The initial consultation

The initial consultation is an opportunity to examine the vagina, discuss the discomfort, and explain the expected results to you. It makes it possible to search for situations or antecedents that may require rules of caution such as:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding woman.
  • Areas showing inflammatory and / or infectious clinical signs of viral (eg: Papilloma, Herpes), bacterial, fungal (eg: mycosis) and / or in patients undergoing treatment for these pathologies.
  • Patient with known hypersensitivity to one of the components (hyaluronic acid).

Complications

As with any injection of hyaluronic acid, certain reactions may occur such as swelling, bruising, itching, tenderness at the injection site, which usually resolve within a few days.

Operative suites

The postoperative effects are generally not very painful. Edema can appear and usually takes 3 to 5 days to resolve.

After an injection of hyaluronic acid the patient must observe sexual abstinence for five days.
