If the aging of the upper eyelids is manifested by excess skin, that of the lower eyelids is manifested above all by an excess of fat which causes the skin of the eyelid to bulge, resulting in “puffiness” which gives the eyes a tired appearance.
These pockets are sometimes family and appear from the age of 30 years.
They aggravate the natural hollow located at the junction between the cheek and the eyelid, which is called the ring.
The daily approach
Remember to hydrate! Avoid too heavy treatments, favor draining products.
The medical approach
Aesthetic medicine corrects all the wrinkles and fine lines of the eyes and thus makes it possible to obtain an embellishment of the eyelids.
Aesthetic medicine can be an alternative to conventional surgery (blepharoplasty).
But not only, in fact injections can also be performed for procedures complementary to gaze correction surgery.
The surgical approach
The principle of the intervention, called lower blepharoplasty, is therefore, thanks to an incision located a few millimeters under the eyelashes, to go and remove the excess fat, then to put the eyelid back in tension, giving it a smoother appearance, without however, completely eliminate crow's feet wrinkles which are important in the expressiveness of the face.
The procedure lasts from 45 minutes to an hour, and is done either under local anesthesia or under light sedation. The care and follow-up are identical to those of upper blepharoplasty.
In a few months, the eyelid regains a more youthful appearance and the heavy and tired appearance of the look improves.
Blepharoplasty of the upper and lower eyelids is considered separately or simultaneously depending on whether the aging occurs on the top, bottom, or both sides of the eye.
Blepharoplasty is a simple procedure whose effects are excellent, restoring an unobstructed, clear look, without changing its appearance.
